TOPHow to get Mount Armor
There's multiple ways to get Mount Armor in Diablo 4, including:
- Monster drops: different Mounts drop in different regions of Sanctuary
- Challenges: completing some of the game's harder Challenges reward Mount Armor
- Season Pass: included with Premium Pass or earned with Free tier
- Promotions: co-brand deals (KFC), Twitch drops, or buying the Deluxe or Ultimate edition
- Stable Master: limited Mounts are available under the Stable Master's Vendor tab
- PvP: players can buy Mounts using Red Dust at the Fields of Hatred Mount vendor
Each of these ways offers unique Mount Armor. Note that these items are cosmetic-only, meaning they add zero power to the Mount. Also, they can't be traded, but can be used on any of a player's characters.
Mount items in future Expansions and Seasons
In 2019, early in Diablo 4's development, Blizzard was quoted as saying that Mounts had multiple types of equippable items, including:
- Armor (or Bardings)
- Hoofplates (or Horseshoes)
- Saddles
- Trophies
And some of these items had an impact on the Mount's power [1], like increasing the Mount's Defense or Movement Speed:
Now that Diablo 4 has been released, there's no sign of Mount items like Hoofplates, and Mount items are now cosmetic-only, adding zero power to gameplay. Perhaps Blizzard will flesh out Mount items more in a future Season or expansion.
