Ultimate Edition of Diablo 4

What's the Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition?

Blizzard made the Ultimate Edition (along with Standard and Deluxe) available for pre-order on December 8, 2022. It's the most expensive Diablo 4 offering and is available on:

• PC/Windows
• Xbox One, S, and X
• PlayStation 4 and 5

Each edition of the game has a different color banner beside Lilith in its logo. The Ultimate Edition is orange, whereas the Standard is red, and the Deluxe is gray.

How much does the Ultimate Edition cost?

Coming in at $99.99, the Ultimate Edition is the most expensive Diablo 4 version; however, it includes 4 days of early access to the game, 20 tier skips for the Season Battle Pass system, and an exclusive emote, the Wings of the Creator​ emote. Here's the editions' costs:

• Standard Edition: $69.99 USD
• Deluxe Edition: $89.99 USD
• Ultimate Edition: $99.99 USD

Does a physical box version of the Ultimate Edition exist?

Because all versions of Diablo 4 are digital-only, the Ultimate Edition isn't available in physical box form. You can only download the game onto your platform of choice.

There's the Diablo 4: Limited Collector's Box, which contains a handful of finely-crafted Diablo 4-related collectibles, but note that it doesn't include the game.

Is the Ultimate Edition's price consistent across all platforms?

Yes. Regardless of which platform you purchase the Ultimate Edition on, its price will be the same (i.e., $99.99).

How does each Diablo 4 edition differ?

Each of the three versions of Diablo 4 has slightly different digital offerings:

What does the Ultimate Edition include?

Diablo 4 base game for Battle.net

Obviously, the game itself is included with the Ultimate Edition. Players should note that they must be online and logged on to Battle.net at all times while playing. Therefore, Diablo 4 has no offline mode.

Amalgam of Rage (World of Warcraft mount)

The Amalgam of Rage is a beastly mount in Diablo 4; however, it doesn't seem to be a player-rideable mount (but maybe for a Boss?). That said, World of Warcraft players can enjoy riding atop the multi-headed monster.

Light Bearer mount (for pre-orders only)

The Light Bearer is clad in a red and black armor called Caparison of Faith (included). Although it offers no power advantage (i.e., cosmetic-only), the Light Bearer mount is sure to turn heads trotting across Sanctuary. Players can access it when they unlock the mounts feature.

Open Beta early access (for pre-orders only)

Players that pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition (and any edition for that matter) got access to Diablo 4's Early Access and Open Beta weekends..

Umber Winged Darkness set (Immortal cosmetic)

Mobile Diablo fans playing Diablo Immortal will receive the Umber Winged Darkness cosmetic set (again, the item is for looks only).

Murloc Pet & Inarius Wings (Diablo 3 items)

Diablo 3 players get two digital items: a pet in the form of a Murloc and an Inarius Wings cosmetic. Inarius, Lilith's former lover and now rival, will play a pivotal role in Diablo 4.

Hellborn Carapace mount armor and Temptation mount

The Hellborn Carapace armor makes your mount looks like it stepped out of Hell, with seared flesh and shiny metal. In the example image below, we think Blizzard equipped it on the Temptation mount, also included. Neither the Hellborn Carapace armor or Temptation mount will add to your character's power (because they're cosmetic items).

Play up to 4 days before release date

A popular reason to opt for the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition will be the ability to access the game 4 days early. This head start won't impact the game's first Season because it begins months after the June 6, 2023 release.

20 tier skips for Premium Season Battle Pass

The Ultimate Edition not only comes with one Premium Season Pass, which gives players access to unique, season-specifc cosmetic gear, but it also allows them to skip 20 tiers in the season's progression to access even cooler (cosmetic) gear. Once again, this gear provides zero boost to power.

Wings of the Creator emote

Diablo 4 players can look like Inarius too, with the Wings of the Creator emote, an Ultimate Edition-only cosmetic item. Emotes are triggered via a hotkey, and are used to express emotion to other players, or occasionally used to interact with quests or NPCs. It's unknown if the cosmetic Wings of the Creator emote will have any of these gameplay tie-ins.

Does purchasing on one platform allow play on others?

No. If, for example, you want to play Diablo 4 on PC and Playstation, you'd have to buy the game on both platforms (i.e., two separate purchases). Once purchased, though, your progression would be consistent across both platforms.

Console cross-generation play

In the event that you have multiple generations of a console, say, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, and wish to play Diablo 4 on each of them, you only need to purchase the game once, for the Xbox platform. Again, your progress would be tracked across both.
