Buy cosmetic item sets with real money
Diablo 4's Cosmetics Shop allows players to buy item sets that transform a character's look [1]:
Purchased with Platinum currency
To purchase item sets, players must first convert their local currency into Platinum Premium Currency. This is done by clicking on the "Platinum" tab in the Shop and selecting the amount of Platinum to buy. 100 Platinum is roughly equivalent to $1 USD, although a slight discount is given for buying more at once.
Shop items offer no power advantage
Before Diablo 4's launch, Blizzard adamantly said that players can't purchase power in the game. They stuck to that promise by making all items purchased in the real money shop cosmetic-only:
Cosmetics offer unique looks; not necessarily better ones
Blizzard wants items coming from monster drops and the Cosmetics Shop to both look amazing, with the latter offering an easy way to add a niche, unique look that the player identifies with.
TOPHow do cosmetic item sets work?
Class-based sets
Blizzard's artists tailored each cosmetic item set to a specific Class. When a player purchases a set, it can be used on any of their characters of that Class. Sets in the Shop are also organized by Class, and the recommended sets feature takes into account which Classes a player is playing.
Cosmetics Shop refresh each week
Blizzard rotates the Shop's items once a week. Players can see the countdown to the next refresh in the upper-right corner of the main Shop's screen. Also, the "Shop" tab will have an exclamation point by it. Once items are rotated out, they'll return at some point in the future.
Types of cosmetic sets to buy
Blizzard created 5 cosmetic set types for players to purchase. Each set costs a different amount based on how many items it includes and how unique-looking it is.
