The Dry Steppes sit between Scosglen to the north and Kehjistan to the south on the western side of Diablo 4's playable landmass.
Canyons, grasslands, & salt flats
The Dry Steppes is home to grasslands and vast salt flats [1] that don't receive much precipitation. Its architecture seems Islamic-inspired, with many of the buildings featuring round domes and minarets.

Barbarians, cannibals, & mercs
The Dry Steppes is a region where various ruthless groups of humans are fighting for supremacy. These include barbarians, cannibal mages, and mercenaries:
"This is a difficult place to live. Only the ruthless and desperate call the Dry Steppes home. If you live in this place, you're either predator or prey. There's violent wars between these groups. There's groups trying to take the spotlight in this power vacuum. With Lilith's return, that darkness inside all of us, since we're both angel and demon, has started to rise and people are giving into it. People turn to cannibalism for more power."

Blizzard shared a video of a Sorcerer exploring the remote Orbei Monastery found in the Dry Steppes. The land is dry and dusty grassland, and the buildings, which feature clay roof tiles, are in disrepair.

The Dry Steppes' ambient sounds include blowing sand and tumbleweeds, and the scurrying of lizards and other small animals.
