Poisonous, putrid swamps
Players will have to watch where they step in Hawezar, which is filled with swamps containing poisonous plants and animals [1]:

Black magic witches & assassins
According to Blizzard, Hawezar is a place where the unlawful go to get lost and be forgotten. In addition to assassins and thieves, the swamps are inhabited by black magic witches that worship giant snakes:
"Those that come to Hawezar come to be forgotten and lost. There's cutthroats, theives, assassins, and murderers that want to do their dark deeds far outside the reach of the forces of law and order. This is also the location where we have swamp witches that worship massive snakes. They have dark knowledge that they may be willing to part with, but for a heavy price."
