Upgrading Healing Potions

One of the Alchemist's core services is upgrading Healing Potions (see our full guide on Healing). Diablo 4 places more importance and skill on Healing than in past Diablo games, so players will want to upgrade their Potions at the Alchemist as soon their level allows it. Upgrading Potions costs Gold and Crafting Materials.

Crafting Elixirs

The Alchemist allows players to craft consumable items called Elixirs that provide a character with 30 minute bonuses. Other things to know about Elixirs:

• Players can only have 1 Elixir active at a time
• Elixirs don't have to be reapplied after dying
• The Inventory screen has a "Consumables" tab for Elixirs (among other items)

Refine Resources

Oftentimes, players may have more of one Crafting Material than they need and not enough of another. The Alchemist's Refine Resources tab allows players to covert specific Crafting Materials for others. Each conversion costs 200 Gold.

Incense wasn't included in the Open Beta and hasn't been discussed by Blizzard, but we suspect it allows players to create consumable items that temporarily buff nearby Party members (similar to Elixirs, but for groups). We suspect they'll cost Gold and Crafting Materials.
