What are Status Effects in Diablo 4?
Both player characters and enemies can be given Status Effects as the result of certain attacks, items, or Skills. Some Status Effects provide positive outcomes (e.g., ability to absorb damage), while others inflict negative ones (e.g., vulnerable to increased damage).
In item and Skill screens, statuses are denoted with capitalized words (e.g., "Knocked Back or "Stunned"). If a Skill includes a Status Effect, its definition is shown at the bottom of the Skill description. Also, the effect's name will be a clickable tag, which will return a list of all other Skills with that effect.

Barrier
Barrier absorbs damage from all sources up to a certain amount.

Enemies that are Burning suffer Fire damage over a period of time.

Enemies that are Chilled have reduced Movement Speed. Enemies that are repeatedly Chilled become Frozen.
