What are Seeds of Hatred?
Seeds of Hatred are given to players in the Fields of Hatred for:
- Killing other players: victorious players can pick up slain players' Seeds of Hatred
- Killing Monsters: Elites and roaming PvP Bosses reward the most
- Opening Chests and objects: Baleful Chests, only found on the Fields of Hatred, give a lot
- Completing Events: Events yield many Seeds of Hatred, but attract other players
Unlike Gold, which auto-picks-up when a player walks close to it, Seeds of Hatred must be clicked on to be picked up, adding a bit of extra difficulty.
Players can see their amount of Seeds of Hatred in the upper-right corner of the screen. Note that if a player leaves their current Field of Hatred (even going to the other Field of Hatred), they forfeit their Seeds of Hatred balance.
Purifying Seeds of Hatred in a Ritual of Hatred
Seeds of Hatred alone can't be used for anything and must be transformed into a real currency, called Red Dust, which can be spent on PvP cosmetic rewards. This process is done by purifying the Seeds of Hatred in a Ritual of Hatred. If a player dies before performing a successful Ritual of Hatred, they drop all of their Seeds of Hatred, which can be picked up by another player.
Altar of Extraction locations
To begin the Ritual of Hatred, players must travel to one of the handful of Altars of Extraction in their current Field of Hatred (either the Dry Steppes or Kehjistan one). Altars of Extraction are located in the center and edges of the map.

- Reach of Fulmination: South

Altar of Extraction statuses
Altar of Extractions have 3 statuses, which are denoted by their minimap icon:
Available (White): An Altar of Extraction that isn't in use.
Active (Orange): A player is performing a Ritual of Hatred. Only 1 ritual can occur at an altar at a time.
Cooldown (Gray): A Ritual of Hatred just finished and the altar needs a 60 second cooldown.
Beginning the Ritual of Hatred
Once a player has arrived at an Altar of Extraction, they can click it to begin the Ritual of Hatred, which begins a 60 second countdown. As soon as they click the statue, the player becomes Bloodmarked (if they weren't already), which means that other players can kill them.
The countdown timer is displayed to the left of the minimap and via an orange progress bar above the Altar of Exraction's minimap icon, which is visible to all players:
Ritual of Hatred alert
Once a ritual begins, all players on the Field of Hatred (and the adjoining PvP town of Alzuuda or Denshar) are given an alert informing them that a player started a ritual at a specific Altar of Extraction. This can result in multiple players racing off towards the altar in the hopes to slay the player (and others arriving) to steal their Seeds of Hatred.
Surviving the Ritual of Hatred
During the 60 second ritual, players face a few waves of (easier) Monsters and the potential for other players to come vie for Seeds of Hatred. If other players show up, the player can choose to fight them or run around and wind the clock down; however, the player performing the ritual must stay within the red radius of the Altar of Extraction or risk having to restart the ritual.
After the 60 seconds is up, and if the player hasn't died, their Seeds of Hatred are converted to Red Dust in a 1:1 conversion. Their Seeds of Hatred balance will now show 0, and their Red Dust balance, shown at the bottom of the Inventory Screen, will reflect the newly added Red Dust.
Even if the player dies the second after the ritual ends, their Red Dust is safely locked away.
