Series of goals for each season
To help guide players to the season's content offerings, Blizzard is bringing back Diablo 3's Season Journey, a free system which rewards players for completing a series of objectives [1]:
Broken into chapters
To better organize season objectives by difficulty and theme, Blizzard has separated them into chapters, which must be done in successive order. We imagine they get progressively harder.
TOPChapter progression
Unlocking the next Season Journey's chapter requires completing a certain number of objectives within the current chapter. The UI has a progress bar, seen below, with a vertical line signifying where the next chapter is unlocked:
TOPObjectives of varying difficulty
Objectives come in different types and difficulties. Some will be as simple as crafting an item at a vendor or reaching a certain level, while others will involve more effort, like completing a number of dungeons.
The last and most difficult objective will be slaying an unknown boss (that likely rotates each season):
TOPChapter rewards
Once you complete enough of a chapter's objectives, you unlock up to three rewards and access to the next chapter's objectives. The two boxes, seen below, may act as mystery loot containers that, once clicked, surprise you with an item.
