What's Microsoft Game Pass
Microsoft's Game Pass allows gamers to play over 100 games for a monthly fee. There's three plans to choose from [1]:
- PC Game Pass ($9.99/month)
- Game Pass for Console ($9.99/month)
- Game Pass Ultimate ($14.99/month for PC & console)
Diablo 4 likely part of Game Pass
When Diablo 4's 2023 release date was announced at June 2022's Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, many people wondered whether Diablo 4, which is releasing on both PC and Xbox, would be included in Game Pass. During the event, Microsoft showed a slide listing all of the upcoming Xbox games in 2023, labeling any Game Pass enabled games. Diablo 4 didn't have this label above its picture:
Fear not, though, because Jez Cordon, who attended the event and is Editor at WindowsCentral.com, asked a Microsoft reprentative about Diablo 4's inclusion in Game Pass. The answer is: likely, after Microsoft's acquisition of Blizzard goes through in mid-2023, which is also around the time Diablo 4 releases [2].
There's no word on whether Diablo 4 will be part of just the PC plan or both the PC and Console ones, but we'd bet on the latter scenario since the game is cross-platform
