Auction house in Diablo 4

Auction house not a good fit

After learning the lesson from Diablo 3's launch that an auction house feature isn't a good fit with the Diablo series' gameplay, Blizzard says that Diablo 4 won't contain one. Players are expected to get most of their items from slaying monsters [1]:

"There won't be an auction house. We haven't settled on a specific trading system, but we have a philosophy for how trading works. The idea is that the predominant source of getting items in Diablo IV should be killing monsters. That's the reason why we removed the auction house from Diablo IV."

Clan bank trading feature

Although details are scarce, Blizzard has mentioned the existence of a clan bank [2], where clanmates can pool their gold and do some form of trading or handing down items (for gold or free?):

"We're planning on having player-to-player trading and with your clan in the clan bank."
